Description |
Dusty blue adult extra large size collared polo shirt. The short sleeve shirt has two tan and brown plastic buttons along the collar. On the front of the shirt is a small white graphic located on the proper left chest area. The graphic consists of a stylized heart symbol with the words "Celebrate / Providence Child Center / 50 Years of Caring" oriented diagonally across the center. The tag, located on the back of the shirt along the collar, has the Manufacturer's logo, which features the large red letters "anvil" above a blue bar and the words "100% COMED / COTTON/COTON / PRE-SHRUNK / MADE IN USA / OVER FOR CARE" in blue and "-XL-" in red. On the back of the tag is product information and cleaning instructions in blue. |

According to the (163) Providence Child Center chronicles, the Center's Fiftieth Anniversary was celebrated on June 4, 1995 with an outdoor birthday party, which included a reenactment of the 1945 walk by eight Sisters of Providence carrying babies from (161) Providence Hospital to the newly-constructed Our Lady of Providence Nursery. On September 21, 1995, Mother Gamelin Day, a Fiftieth Anniversary rededication led by Archbishop William Levada took place. Items were placed in a time capsule and added to the Center's cornerstone for opening in the year 2045. Anvil Knitwear was originally established in 1899. In May 2012, Anvil Holdings Inc. and it's parent company Anvil Knitwear was purchased by Gildan Activeware, which manufactures branded clothing and blank activeware, such as T-shirts, that are later decorated by screen printing companies. The Gildan Activeware was founded in 1984 by Glenn and Greg Chamandy and as of January 2017, is still in operation. The heart shaped commemorative box, A-163.012, and the hat, A-163.026, are also from the Center's Fiftieth Anniversary. |
