About this collection

Founded by the Sisters of Providence in 1924 as St. Vincent Home for the Aged, the facility aslo served as the provincial seat and novitiate for the former Sacred Heart Province. The Home served members of the public as well as the retired Sisters of Providence until 1966, when Saint Joseph Residence was opened on the same campus to provide skilled nursing and assisted living to the sisters. Today, the Mount is a multi-purpose facility, featuring skilled nursing care, assisted living apartments, and rehabilitative services among other innovative programs.
